Involvement

Co-Op Student

Due to my connections as a student trustee, I had the opportunity to be a co-op student at the Justice for Children and Youth legal clinic in Toronto. By being an affiant to help support a legal case, I have been connected to a lawyer who granted me this placement, where I was trusted with the responsibility of organizing client evidence and files into a shared computer system, creating dockets for transcribing voicemails that contain sensitive information for staff lawyers' clients into the respective client file. I also had the chance to help with outreach projects by sharing information about legal information and laws in Canada to interested youth, and I helped to analyze and record feedback and data after an outreach project with more than 130+ attendees.
